Played Magical Kitties Save th e Day on NYE.  I enjoyed it. Would play more.

Played a one shot D&D game 5E at the local cat cafe.  Played a cat themed player race.  The cats ignored us at first but later decided the dice and game markers were the most important things in the world.

Anyone familiar with Trudvang? I've been reading up on it as FreeLeague is currently Kickstarting a new version. I absolutely *love* their The One Ring game and am intrigued by Trudvang. Apparently they're using their new Dragonbane system as a base to work from?

"Everything that brought you here -- all the things that made you a prisoner of past sins -- they are gone. Forever and for good. So let the past go... and live."

"Somebody, after all, had to make a start. What we wrote and said is also believed by many others. They just don't dare express themselves as we did."

I'm familiar with the original Drakar & Demoner game and setting that is what Dragonbane evolved from (essentially it's a different evolutionary offshoot from Runequest). Trudvang, I believe is a house setting that evolved from the Drakar & Demoner implied/ default setting.

The vibe is, I'd say, "Mossy Scandinavian fantasty" (which I adore) which will have some commonality with the grounded, journey focused vibe of the One Ring. Basically, I think it's more of a "it's a fantasy roleplaying game built more around Scandinavian and European sensibilities and history in terms of scale and social relations" in contrast to the "it's a fantasy roleplaying game built on a Wild West sense of scale, sitcom sensibilities, and superhero character archs" that is modern D&D.

I'm not intimately familiar with it, though.

  Looking at the Kickstarter I was shocked at how the average pledge per backer was something like $1,200.

... but it's not. It SEK, which turns into a somewhat more reasonable US$ 140.
