But killing civilians isn't actually wrong.  It's part of warfare.  It is legal.  If we didn't kill civilians in Syria ISIS would still be around.  You know that.

The argument that "killing civilians isn't actually wrong" demonstrates a lack of understanding of how the laws of armed conflict are created (hint: to minimize the evil of dead civilians) and interpreted. Killing civilians is wrong, full stop. It is allowed only under conditions where the only alternative is a worse wrong.
