The batteries are built in Nevada, not sure about the cells, some there too, maybe all? The lithium itself almost certainly comes via China. Tesla used to import full vehicles, but that's obviously not viable with Biden's 100% tax on Chinese made BEV cars.

So far China has not retalitated on that, but there are already car makers moving production from the US to China to de-risk the opposite direction.
