Apparently a Republican congresswoman (Mary Miller, from Illinois) has been caught on camera quoting Hitler at a pro Trump rally in Washington.

Did she assure them that Steiner's assault would bring it under control?

Mitch McConnell went full anti-Trump in his speech

Of course. Literally at the last hour McConnel is suddenly going anti-Trump. Fuck that guy, a thousand times over. I despise him even more than Trump.

:yeahright:

Via-a-vis Pence and McConnell (and Cotton, and a few others)... better late than never.

I sure hope the Republicans do not keep him as minority leader after this.

Granted both houses of Congress seem weirdly slow to switch leadership even after losing seats.

I wouldn't get your hopes up.

McConnell seems like a guy who knows where all the bodies are buried.

Bullshit. It is not better.

You'd rather Pence try to unilaterally discard electoral votes today?

A "jk lol" after years of actively working to destroy America is not a great look. At least own your turd.

This has been an ongoing theme in my discussions with Ucks for some time now.

Do I want to be buddies with Mitch McConnell, invite him to poker night?  No.

Am I glad he said what he said?  Absolutely.  The two can coexist.  They're two different ways of framing the issue.

(Anyone have a link to his comments?)

Using the "but for" test, McConnell is a greater evil than Trump, I don't think that's eyebrow-worthy.  Not only did McConnel pave the way for Trump by sabotaging the workings of government for political gain in an unprecedented way, but he then enabled Trump once he was elected.  McConnell is speaking out now because Trump is getting in the way of his long game, whose end goal isn't that much more benevolent.

Yeah, he knows where all the bodies are buried, in a way that a serial killer does.

Any juicy highlights?

Copying from the running commentary on the NYtimes site:

Trump's arguments of election fraud include "sweeping conspiracy theories."

"Nothing before us proves illegality anywhere near the massive scale that would have tipped the entire election."

"We cannot declare ourselves a national board of elections on steroids"

and I think the real dagger:

"Public doubt alone can't justify this when the doubt was incited without any basis"

And to fuel Berkut's justified rage over the hypocrisy, he called for a "shared commitment for the truth" and a "shared respect for the ground rules of our system."
