There's now a spat going on over the UK ambassador's private assessment of the Trump 'administration' 

Trump has doubled down and will refuse to see/work with him, whilst at the same time taking an undignified swipe at departing PM May.

This morning Pierce Morgan first declared kids with anxiety snowflakes, then proceeded to furiously defend Trump over the above tantrum.

So nice to see such unrelenting love, even in unrequited.

I mean I would be upset if the UK Ambassador said something publicly against our President, even this particularly shitty one. But surely the ambassador needs to be able to do his job and report his opinions to his government. Our government has no grounds to be upset here, we would expect exactly the same sort of thing from one of our own ambassadors. This is a personal matter and the President is abusing his office if he makes his personal matters public business.

Granted I don't know the context or content of the emails.

It would seem a major Farage-ist journalist wrote the article and her ilk tried initially to push for naming Farage as the next ambassador.

But I think they miscalculated, they thought the rest of the public opinion is also as subservient to the American Right and Trump in particular like they are.

Yeah, if he'd said Trump was open to reasoned opinion and someone a future UK PM/government could work with it would be.

As you say he was on the money, also his initial assessment of Trump at the start proved accurate.

I was just saying what I would be thinking if this situation involved generic President of the United States rather than one specific buffoon.

I can totally see why you would want Farage out of the country.  Of course I'd want him sent to Mongolia or something.

Don't think Trump is thinking this through to put it mildly. If 20 million plus lose their health insurance, he's going to be blamed.
