It's also the show (Dragons Den/Shark Tank) that came close to giving us Kevin O'Leary as Conservative Party leader. <_<

He's kind of a dick too.

The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

ANyone know much about Maryland governor Larry Hogan (R)?  Here's some speculation he might mount a primary challenge to Trump.

He's our quite popular two-term Governor. Easily defeated Ben Jealous, the former NAACP President, in November by 12 points. Keep in mind that Maryland is a very blue state, where registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans 2-to-1.

Pretty well-balanced guy. Known for working well with both parties. Moderate, no-nonsense, fairly pragmatic. I voted him last year and I'd probably vote for him in 2020.

Sounds like a nice enough guy, and maybe could do well in a general election, but doesn't really sound like the kind of guy that could make waves in a primary fight.  No one is going to out-Trump Trump, but you need someone who can't quite so easily be labelled as a RINO.

This country needs patriots to step up so good on the Governor. He is playing a dangerous game since a run to right might cost him in Maryland but staying centrist will probably get him killed in the Primary. Still how well he and others do against the President will give as a window on what we can expect in the General.

Article says he'll be term-limited in Maryland after this term, so he may not care.

There is some value in having a sacrificial lamb in the GOP primary, so sane Republicans can register their disapproval.

Unless he is retiring, and he might, that often means a transition to the House or Senate.

I've always liked Dragons' Den better than Shark Tank. And of course the Swedish original is so much better than Survivor.

I don't want to vote for some sacrificial lamb in the Republican primary;  I want to vote for someone who can wrest the nomination away from Trump.

And I want to bang a Victoria Secret model.  But it's not gonna happen.

Yes, he's a pretty decent guy.  He's the Republican for Republicans who are not brain-dead.  He's got some baggage ginned up from the NRA (who hates him) and from some other corners, but he's his own guy.  There's a reason he sailed to an easy re-election as governor in this very Blue state of Maryland (yes, I voted for him)
