He was just bullshitting.  Obviously if you're prez you don't do that in public

I can't think of a single thing he's ever done that a president does in public.

Read some articles on German politicians thinking that Trump is not bullshitting but means everything he says. Which in turn means that our government now considers to prepare for a trade war with our biggest trade partner...

I don't know...maybe Minsky and Capetan Mihali and other Manhattanstanis and Mid-Atlantic/East Coasters of a certain age can agree with me on this--and perhaps it's been the fact that Donald Trump has often ebbed and flowed in and out consistently of the sphere of pop culture/media silliness/celebrity--Howard Stern, Spy Magazine, talk shows, Playboy interviews, Bloom County, the books, the gossip pages, Saturday Night Live when Phil Hartman did his impersonation for fuck's sake, the social circles of New York and its politics in general, which you just can't help but keep one eye on--but for those of us that have managed to have had Donald J. Trump on our radars since the 1980s, none of this is surprising.  He's just managed to get meaner, nastier, courser and fall for the goofy conspiracy shit harder as he's gotten older.

After all, Donald Trump's Been Saying The Same Thing For 30 Years.

So yeah, Germany:  you're on your own.  My suggestion?  Rearmament.  You guys do it so well.  And rearming is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

Germans just don't get comedy :D

HAHAHA IT'S HILARIOUS!!!!!

He's not joking, you dumb fuck. He's just retarded and doesn't know how anything works.

Monoriu

I simply don't think impeachment will happen.  It is four years of Trump.  Maybe eight.

Easy now.  Let's not let our discourse become uncivil.

People I know on facebook posted those videos as if it were some kind of good thing.  I don't expect people I went to highschool with to know concepts such as deterrence and power projection, but the guy running for President should!  Our only hope is that someone sits him down and gives him a crash course on basic geopolitics.  Economics would be nice as well.  At least someone should tell him why we can't just "take" 130 billion barrels of oil.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Oh yeah same guy.  A extreme variant of a highly specialized species of life to be found flitting about the edges of Manhattan and Southampton salons. The only surprising thing is evangelicals and Midwestern working class stiffs embracing him as Man of the People.  You can only laugh and cry at the same time.

The evangelical thing puzzles me.  I've come to the conclusion that they don't actually give a shit about Christian morality.

Jesus also came to the same conclusion about the "devout"!  :o

(Spoiler:  They later killed him.)

Trump is in with the "prosperity gospel" folks it seems. At least some conservative American Christians seem to be aware that this creed is not really acceptable to mainstream Christian thought :

Hilarious that after all the amoral shit Trump pulls off, what drives Christians over the edge is the Nicene creed.

there may have been a slight joke to the iraqi oil comment, but it's part of his strategy of keeping the world on its toes -- never know what to expect, underestimate and overestimate him at the same time. trump is playing chess while the world plays checkers. to borrow from dguller, trump is a level 7 player.
