So, more evidence that Trump only hires morons:

1. AG Pam Barbie has announced that she is convening a grand jury to seek an incitement against Barack Obama and select advisors.  This despite the fact that prosecutors/AGs are prohibited from announcing the convening or deliberations of grand juries, for obvious reasons. This also despite the fact that she actually alleges no crimes. This also-also despite the fact that, if she actually seeks and gets an indictment (always possible given the way grad jury proceedings are stacked in favor of returning indictments)she MUST GO TO TRIAL. That would be the most humiliating trial in US history for prosecutors.

2. Pam Barbie also appointed failed candidate for US Attorney Alina Habba (the Republicans in the US Senate refused to even consider her appointment in committee, so unqualified was she) as the principal deputy in the same US Attorney's office and then, the same day, had the president fire the interim USA so that Habba could become the new acting USA in New Jersey. The law says that no principal deputy can become the acting USA unless they have served at least 90 days as principal deputy.  Habba hadn't served 90 minutes.

The Habba thing is especially important because it has frozen federal prosecutions in New Jersey. If she is not legally the acting USA (as the courts will surely rule) then all charging documents, plea deals, convictions, etc undertaken by the USA's office under her are void ab initio - they never were.

Definitely not putting moronity aside...I think we know that humiliating themselves is not a factor in the the administration's decision making process.  But "The Obama Trial" would be one hell of a distraction from the Epstein business, and we do seem to be seeing the administration in "find distractions" mode.

Not to mention raw meat for the MAGA mob.

The case would be dismissed with prejudice 30 seconds after it was laid in front of a judge and the prosecutor would be rebuked and referred by the judge to the state bar for disbarment.

There will be no actual trial.

And the Trump administration is going to be too busy trying to explain why the Epstein prison video was doctored from two other videos, at least one of them not taken that night and unquestionably edited four times.

The ABA doesn't do bar accreditation in the US; disbarment procedures are usually handled by discipline committees established by the state courts.

The DOJ has historically taken the position that state bar rules and disciplinary procedures cannot operate to interfere with activities of federal attorneys authorized by the Attorney General.

The whole Obama grand jury thing is absurd.  It's based on emails that the Federal government already believes to be fraudulent.  Created, no less, by Russian intelligence.  It was determined to be fake by Trump's own guy, John Durham.  But who know, if goes before someone like Judge Emil Bove, does it matter that it is transparently fraudulent?

Even Democrat presidents have no confidence in US courts, and that's when the accused is white. Maybe there won't be an Obama trial, maybe there will. Remember, when Republicans watch Mississippi Burning they root for Grima and Yondu.

At a White House press conference to discuss Apple's new US manufacturing plans, CEO Tim Cook presented a gift to President Donald Trump: a "unique" piece of glass from iPhone glass manufacturer Corning that's set in a 24-karat gold base.

The piece of glass is a large disc with the Apple logo cut into it. On the top of the glass, President Trump's name is printed. On the bottom, there's a signature that appears to be Cook's as well as the message "Made in USA" and the year 2025. The glass was designed by a "former US Marine Corps corporal" who works at Apple, according to Cook. The base "comes from Utah."

Cook is well known for his ability to foster a relationship with President Trump, and shortly after Trump was elected for his second term, CEOs reportedly looked to replicate Cook's relationship-building skills. Trump has threatened Apple and other phone manufacturers with tariffs unless they bring manufacturing to the US.
