But please Raz, do tell us of the concentration camps set up for people who used the wrong pronouns. Fucking muppet.
I was just repeating what sophie told me.  She wanted me in a camp.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Sometimes I really do.

Somtimes I decide that no, I do not.

Oh, that's a good one, Sophie.

Something I have failed at on innumerable occasions in all three categories.  :(

Yeah, people here keep saying that.  Apparently people with psychiatric illnesses are fair game.  Let us revel in their suffering, vermin that they are.

Quote from: viper37 on February 14, 2025, 11:18:10 AMLet me get this straight.

The US is allowed to break treaties at will due to changing political situation, and the world should just accept it as it is.

The world is not allowed to change budget priorities as financial difficulties arise, often due to American-induced recession.

The NATO spending target was 2% of GDP and most countries where on target, except the newly arrived members, which were given time.

The recession of 2008, caused by Republican deregulation and carelessness hit us all hard.  Leftist government were elected everywhere following that, priorities changed.  Then the immigration crisis had to be jugulated, because of the Syrian war, in large part because Iraq had been destabilized by US intervention and your troops left before the job was finished.

Also, there's this little issue of climate change where the US is freeriding the world, letting us all take the burden of cleaning the mess.

Then the Russia crisis push NATO members to increase their spending to 3% of GDP and many countries are increasing their spending.  Canada was absymally low.   Dealing with your fucking refugees sent by your stupid orange clown didn't help.  But we have our own fault, I can recognize that.

What I don't get is why you rant about other countries military spending while at the same time voting for the administration that promise to cut military spending in half and selling its biggest military secrets to Russia via India.

You want NATO to spend money for the sake of spending money or what?

I didn't vote for Trump.

I want NATO member states to pay a fair share of their own defense.  I want NATO member states to keep their word.

No one does not want this, bar the Russians.  And the vast majority do so.  What's the big beef?

The target is 2% of GDP and of that 2%, 20% must be for equipment expenditures.

23 NATO countries meet both targets. France UK, Germany are there.  These are the countries that are likely to participate in a bombing operation somewhere.  Canada, Belgium and Italy are the real offenders here.

Some recent members need some leeway before they reach their target, but they are working on it.

Some other countries have face hard economic times in a not so distant past, and contrary to the US, they can not go into huge deficits year after year for the fun of it.  The European union has strict rules, and only emergencies will authorize countries to go into deficit.  Covid was one such emergency.

You will please to know that they are now discussing another emergency situation for their defense budget since Russia is preparing for war next year, now that the USA has betrayed all of us, and leaked its own nuclear secrets online.

I am glad you did not vote Trump.  I would be happier if you stopped using his silly rhetoric.

RFK Jr just announced his plan to send people suffering of depression on farms to cure them of their addiction to anti-depressant, along with heroin and fentanyl addicts, like he suggested in the past.

I didn't even hear about the Spoon Revolt until reading yesterday that the government had eliminated the spoon emoji from their email software.  Apparently, those unhappy or amused by the absurd "Fork in the Road" message from Musk indicated their feeling by ending emails with the spoon emoji.  Somemusk couldn't take a joke and so the emoji was deleted.

What a time we live in.

That is exactly the kind of thing that happens in the PRC.  People come up with an online symbol to mock authority and then the government bans it.  What a wonderful model we are following

I can't believe they changed the name back to Fort Bragg, if Bragg was a US General his name would live in infamy forever as a disgrace to the service. But when you are a Confederate General incompetence is celebrated. Though I guess he did help the US win.
