Trump could get some more "I am so super pro-military! Given the article indicates that the situation is local to California, would it actually have any effect out-of-State if either candidate weighed in?

In State, as I understand it, California's chance of voting for Trump is about the same as the chance of intelligent Martians being proven to exist. Hilary's got no need to spend precious time and dollars on the issue and Trump wouldn't get a return worth the time and dollars spent on the issue.

Well yes, they would have to generalise the issue in order to use it as ammunition.

The Pentagon should also return payments with interest and damage awards.

Next they should pay the same bonuses to people in the other 49 states.  The people who didn't re-enlist should get a bonus too, as should civilians.
