I must admit a certain nostalgia for the civic virtues of Memphis. I was recently delighted to read in the news about an interloper given his just desserts.

The media tries to spin this as a "brutal attack", but it was a case of trespassing. Graham Patton had every reason to expect the short shrift he received; Jamal Jones would have received scarcely warmer reception in Germantown.

The songs and legends of the beautiful river city decree Orange Mound is a holy preserve, where the virtues and ideals of the city's colored community are given their fullest expression. In caving in Mr. Patton's face, the residents of Orange Mound confirmed the vigor of their cultural institutions. Theirs is an oral culture, and any number of songs might have warned this breaker of Orange Rules of his fate, but I prefer what Prophet Posse has to say on the matter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=BT4AoT5ygjo

It can't be helped...We'll have to use 'that'
