I did actually read the article and found it informative, thought it didn't really convince me of anything since it couched every point it tried to make.

Yeah, the only point it really convinced me of was that the definition of science is tied somewhat to ideology and world view; and that right now, science is mostly carried out in one particular way, but that that way is not necessarily the only or most objectively right way to do it. That, and the Soviets sure did a lot of science.
