For Beeb's sake I tried to pick pictures of men with a suit and tie. If someone doesn't wear one in his picture, it means there is no picture of them in a suit and tie available. :P

Thanks for messing with my "how to vote based on pictures" strategy.

The suit thing though is just a proxy for trying to tell who is the non-crazy conservative candidate of the bunch.  So here you had three guys in suits - all seemed decent enough.  I wound up voting for the guy in glasses, number one.  He seemed somewhat academic.  Learning that he is the PiS candidate, I'm okay with that.  WHen I try and strip away Marty's biases in reporting on Polish politics, I rather suspect that's the party I'd vote for anyways if I was Polish.

And the fact he's a form of prosecutor makes it even better.

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't vote for PiS. They are Polish tea party. The closest European equivalent is Hungary's Fidesz.

It's hard to say.  In a first past the post system I don't like voting for fringe parties, so I'd vote for a major party that was "close enough" to what I believe in.

Having said that, you did say that it's a proportional representation system, so maybe I'd wind up voting for #3 instead.

So, a strong man, followed by a secret police apparatchik, followed by a crazy amber chick are what Languish ordered?

Malthus

I voted for the Amber Chick, based on the tried and true Languish voting strategy for unknown politicos - always vote for the hottest.  :D

I'm also voting for her so you did the right thing. :P

Guy in black tee and shirt gets my vote. He's probably either a leftist or a fascist.

He looks like he's doing improv.stand-up.

Show me a politician who doesn't.

Nothing more hilarious than fascism.  ;)

Huh.  I googled them.  I thought they were a centre-left party, but I guess not.

So maybe I don't know what I'm talking about for POlish politics.

Here's a more Caliga-approved picture of the Amber chick:

She is the from the united left platform (featuring socialdemocrats, Polish "lib-dems" and the greens).

And another chick running from the same platform (you may remember her from the unsuccesful bid for the mayor of Warsaw):

It seems to me that if Caliga lived in Poland he would be a socialist. :P

Not necessarily.  "Fuck the Socialists" can be interpreted 2 ways.
