Anyone playing Ingress, the augmented reality smartphone game? A friend introduced me yesterday and I can see I'm going to be spending a lot of time wandering round my home town and near work hacking portals.

I played it a little in New York but then promptly forgot about it.

I played for about a year (before the iOS release) and it was fun.  It is actually more fun to play with others (faction events, etc.)  After level 8 (which used to be the cap) it becomes increasingly more difficult to level...and also seems to be less point to it....which is about when I got bored and stopped playing.  If you like meeting new people, including when you travel, this is a nice icebreaker
