By far more interesting than the original topic.

How about this, name a shitty city that is NOT in Ohio, Florida or Michigan....

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Overtown represent. :thug:  I'm surprised Miami Gardens didn't make the list, though.  Just three years ago they had the highest murder rate in the nation.

The two sections of Dallas (they're actually one big section, since they're right next to each other) are where my post office used to be.  Only relevant if I had to go pick up a package, which I never did. :P

I won't even change planes in Cincy, for fear if my aircraft goes down softly in that area it would be similar to when rebels shot down that Air Rhodesia Viscount and then killed all the survivors  :(

CVG is actually located in Northern KY.  So the worst you'll encounter is a bunch of Vinraiths & Caligas.

East St. Louis, IL

My cousin lives in St. Louis, MO.  He got lost in East St. Louis leaving one of the riverboat casinos and pulled up next to a cop parked on the side of the road.  His version of the cop's reaction was "What the fuck are you doing around here, drive that way until you get across the river; don't stop for anything: stop signs, stop lights, nothing just get the fuck out of here!"

Man, the western conference did even worse than I thought.  Nothing in Oakland?  Compton?  What about South Central?

Quote18. New York, N.Y. (St. Nicholas Ave./125th St.)

from wiki:

QuoteMany sections of the street have been gentrified and developed with such stores as MAC Cosmetics, Old Navy, H&M, CVS/pharmacy, and Magic Johnson Theaters. The historic Apollo Theater is here. In collaboration with the community, the city has developed a plan for the 125th Street corridor focusing on reinforcing and building upon its strengths as an arts and cultural corridor

QuoteAs of 2008, former president Bill Clinton maintains an office on 125th Street.

It's essentially the main drag of Harlem.

That is the correct response.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

23.  Detroit, Mich. (Mount Elliott St./Palmer Ave.)

Right by the Cadillac plant.  I wouldn't have guessed that was the worst part of the city; but in Detroit it's hard to know where the bad neighborhoods end and the worse neighborhoods begin.
