Given the nature of the emails he wrote to her, he's either a) an incredibly manipulative person, or b) truly in love with her (hell, he could well be both a) and b)).

If the answer is b), the only proper thing for him to do is formally leave his wife, stop pretending to want to reconcile with her, and get with the hot Latina who he is deeply in love with.  I would actually deeply respect him for doing that, though he's still a douche who should resign immediately.

I think we all know he is NOT going to do this, though.

I think it may have been the case that he went to Argentina to break things off so he could maybe get back together with his wife. But who knows--I'm sure there is a lot of BS in what is reported.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

Why would he have needed to do that in person?  He could have sent an Executive Memo.  :)

Maybe he spent five days "vacationing" with her and then handed her the memo as he got on the plane.

Stupid Governor. He should have taken her hiking, along the Appalachian Trail, and told her there... wouldn't have had to disappear for so long.   ;)

This is apparently her:

Actually looking at that site, it mightn't be her.

Eh she is worth sacrificing a boobie prize like enduring the horror of running for President for.

He can be Governor of Windsor.
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

If she's fixed those nighmarish eyebrows since 2001, I'd hit it, yeah.

Beautiful. But if the more recent pictures are to be trusted, she has not aged well. :(

Argentine women tend to hit a brick wall at a certain point (usually early to mid 40s).  Years of smoking & bulimia eventually take their toll.

Her mom has aged well, so there's hope :)   Besides, she's been away from the Buenos Aires lifestyle for 10 years now.

Yeah, but this one's named Maria Shapur.  That's Latino with some exotic Persian tossed in.  Could have a Paula Abdul thing going on.
