Anyone ever been to Vietnam?
It's visa free now so I might tack it into my SE Asia trip instead of Laos. Big country though, not sure where is best
I'll be there this August.

Had to pay for a ridiculously expensive visa!
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

North or south?
My brother went there this spring and loved it.

A friend of mine is going with his girlfriend and daughter in July. The gf's family is originally from there (but she's born in Austria and has never been there), and they're there for a tour of the country plus some gathering of extended family. He seems more excited than his girlfriend. :P

Their stops will include Saigon (family), Hué and Da-Nang.

North or south?

All over, started out in the north and then went south along the coast, I think. It was part of a larger trip around SE Asia over a couple of months.

Kill them all.

They're harmless.  They can breath air though, which is a little odd for a fish.  Now this is scary fish.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLmJjRqXDCo

Just drove the new Merc S 500 Coupe on the Autobahn. Limiter hits at 155 mph, but the roar of the V8 is epic.  :w00t:

Just 155? That sucks.

And he might have kept it up for a full 30 seconds before some asshole going 100 km/h blocked his way, or he hit a road maintenance zone.  :P

Something like that. But the then you can accelerate again after the slow asshole left the left lane and that's most of the fun anyway. It's really eerie that the car is almost perfectly quiet when you just cruise at 200 kph.
We gave the car to some of our interns yesterday evening and they really raced it through the night. We had to fill up three times between yesterday morning and tonight.  :P

German production cars are typically limited at 250 kph (or 155 mph). Porsche and some Merc-AMG, BMW-M or Audi-S/RS models might go faster.

Yeah, the differences in sound and handling at 200 kph are really marked between cars.

DGuller

I actually like the noise, and other imperfections that indicate that you're going fast.  I find cars that feel like a couch even at high speeds to be very boring, sensation of speed is where the fun is.

Ok never taking a ride with DGuller.
