I like the dry of the (quite) High Plains of Laramie, and like the wet of the redwood forests.  Probably that is why I love Big Sur so much, as one ridge can have the damp, foggy redwoods and ferns, while the other side has cacti and grass.
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

I notice a lot more women in Seattle prefer permed hair over straight. I wonder if it's because it's harder to fight frizz in the damp.

That's strange.  Bobos and granolas shouldn't be perming their hair.

I rather liked Wales when I was visiting there some 20 years ago.  :)

Yes, I was rather found of the place when I lived there for a few years.  :bowler:
Wales is a backwards shithole inhabited by criminals and inbreds. Clan Meri did well to emigrate.

Matches a lot of what I've heard about the place, though.

I quite like that one.

Does anyone use the "ride share" services out there?  Curious as to what your experiences are.  Lyft and Uber both just started in Cincinnati and the idea appeals to me.  I generally dislike traditional taxis because they smell and look nasty, and around here at least it's hard to predict what your fare is going to be.

Uber is wonderful. I generally use it instead of taxis when possible.

What a stupid thing to say.
