Sense of humour failure ?
It's always worth remembering that we live in a country whose the most complained-about TV event is interrupting the Antiques Roadshow to show live footage of Nelson Mandela leaving prison

People leave prison everyday.  If you miss an antiques roadshow its gone forever.

I've missed out on the New Thing: growing your own cannabis. I read an article about an increase in the sale of seeds and went to google to find websites selling it. There's a wealth and all full to the brim with different seeds and growing kits, etc.

Apparently it's not illegal to sell cannabis seeds. Maybe I should try to make this a new hobby?

Galena, Illinois, home to 3400 people, somehow managed to sneak on the friendly list. I actually stayed at a resort there once when I was a kid. Collected a lot of golf balls.

I'm glad to see Casablanca made the list.  Children through rocks at CB when we were there, and taxis wouldn't slow down for school groups crossing the street.

No surprise the D made the list:

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

3. Oakland, California

I recently noted that all the toll bridges around Oakland are set up so that you have to pay to leave town. It's free to get in.

New Zealand and Ireland both had three cities in the friendly list. Bhutan had two.

Limerick was left out, naturally.

It is always free to leave San Francisco, you pay to get in.

It's free coming in from the Peninsula.

What's the deal up in NYC, g?  Do you have to pay to get into Manhattan, or to get out, or both?  I can't remember which way the VN Bridge toll goes.
