From an interview with John Starks:

QuoteYou were in that documentary "Winning Time." Have you seen it yet?
No, I haven't seen it.

Oh, you've got to see it, it's tremendous. There's a part in there where your mom is mentioned. Do you know this story?
No.

After that head-butt incident with Reggie Miller, there was a moment when your teammates, including Patrick Ewing, were visibly mad at you on the court. And your mom said to Patrick, I guess, "look, you shouldn't talk to my son like that."
Yeah.

And then Patrick said something like "Mrs. Starks, if he does that again, I'll kill him myself."
Yeah.

Did that really happen? Did your mom really say that?
Yes. Yeah. It did really happen.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.

So have any of you ever seen those Independence cigar commercials on TV? Did they actually air in Europe?

Yay!  My dad didn't get laid off today.  If he had he would have lost his insurance and we couldn't pay for all the expensive pills keeping him alive.  So that's good.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Wouldn't he have COBRA?

COBRA is short-term and extremely expensive (tough to pay for after being laid off).  But probably.

Not accurate though, the civil liberties left are going mental about Obama.  With reason they're the one group he's really let down.
