Sintra was nice. Though I remember it being inhumanly hot.

Actually, very humid, which is a problem, but not that hot.

So, 28º?  :P

Reminds me, how warm is it around Galicia in August? 28 tops, right?

Depends on the year, t can get ocasionally into the low 30s, but not much more than that.

I expect hinter Galicia (Ourense) to have more contrasted weather, as a transition to Meseta patterns.

Oh yes, Ourense reaches the high 30s every single year. It's actually one of the hottest places in Spain during the summer.

I'm seeing a rising amount of far right graffiti stickers about the place. This is disturbing and annoying.
They range from covid denialist nonsense to "Stop race mixing!"
Getting rid of them is a pain. Rumours suggest they sometimes put razor blades in them too.
I wonder whether getting some stickers printed to put on top could be the ticket. Maybe addressed to this nazi saying we understand life is hard for him (poor 50 year old friendless virgin) but he shouldn't blame it on a series of increasingly ridiculous groups and recommend he call the samaratins.
Though is putting a sticker on a graffiti sticker itself graifiti? :hmm:

Black marker on top of the sticker, crossing it out and with "fuck off Nazi loser" or some such. The black marker will be gone once the sticker is gone.

So, apparently a dude in rural Catalonia has 3 MiGs in his backyard.

I don't think they have a chance against a modern air force like Spain's.

 I think there was a court uniform/dress conversation a while ago.

Can't remember if this was posted but just popped up on my timeline - the Spanish Ambassador in court uniform presenting his credentials to the Queen:
Let's bomb Russia!

Josquius

It somehow looks less ridiculous on a Spanish person.
I wonder if Spanish people would say the same about ours.

I see there were clashes in Paris today between a procession organised by the Diocese of Paris - retracing the steps of priests killed during the Commune - and hard left counter protests.

It rather puts our anemic Anglo-Saxon "culture wars" to shame

Antifa luminaries even called them fascists i.e "fachos". Not bad for events predating fascism by half a century.  :lmfao:

Jack Black singing the national anthem at an WNBA game and ... well, he does better than most. I knew he could sing, but damn, that was quite good.

While our good tinned stuff is pretty good, our regular fares are pretty pedestrian and short on variety. Portuguese tinned fish is where it's at, not only their variety of products and preparations is much larger, even the cans are pretty to look at. There seems to be a conscious effort in the last decade or so in the Portuguese food industry to "dignify" tinned fish products, and there are even some specialized gourmet shops that sell the most amazing, rainbow-coloured displays of tinned delicacies your mind can only imagine, as well as restaurants that only serve dishes prepared with tinned stuff. Check this place, for instance: https://lojadasconservas.com/

I think you should start planning a Portuguese holiday at some point, S, if you love oily fish so much, you wouldn't imagine what the Portuguese can do with sardines.  :P
I was in a fancy restaurant in Porto two years ago and was surprised when you could order tinned fish. Was really great, too.
