Celed I have found that "middle aged" is often used to call old people old when you don't want to be rude by calling them old.
I have found my concept of middle aged is in direct relationship with my age

Also my base assumption is humans should live 100 years. So middle aged = around 50

Mine is based on an SNL sketch from the 90s. "Caught between 40 and 55, he's middle aged man!"

I took a couple of sleeper trains in Thailand. That was good fun.

I've took a bunch of overnight trains in Europe back when I did my Interrail thing many many years ago (1990 I thinkit was), but that was just sleeping in the chairs rather than chairs-folding-down-to-be-a-bed. Especially the return trip, when I managed to get from Sevilla to Copenhagen in about 48 hours by just taking whatever train was departing more or less in the right direction until I got there... which was good, because I only had 48 hours left on my ticket.

I vastly prefer trains to flying, and it's a bit nicer than driving. Back pre-Covid I semi-regularly took the train down the Seattle rather than driving. The US West Coast trains are a bit annoying because unlike many other jurisdiction, freight takes priority over passengers on the single line stretches which means sometimes you get extra delay so some containers can get where they're going faster. Still, it's better having a beer and looking out the window, idly surfing the net (or working, I suppose) than swearing at the other drivers on the freeway.

Took lots of trains in Japan as well. Excellent system there.

My wife and I - in the before times - talked about doing some sightseeing in China on their rapidly expanding rail system, but we're feeling less keen about it these days even once the world is more or less open again.

Use the Euro passports, if you do.

Depends which Euro passports I think

What the absolute hell.
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".

Will Ferrell was pretty damn close.

I don't know if I like the song or not, but I hope they win.

Josquius

They need to win after last year was taken from them.

Oh I'm all in for Ukraine this year:

Not in English, reflects what I imagine is traditional Ukrainian music and is a banger. Ukraine has all the ingredients to become the Ireland of the 21st century :w00t:

Although last year's was even bettter

Edit: Also this year is a cheerful (?) song greeting spring after the winter - which I feel is a bit mood for 2021.

I'll do a London Mayor vote thread later. But there's a lot of fringe candidates this year - about 6 different anti-lockdown candidates - who can't all make it. As someone on Twitter put it this election cycle the London Mayoral election has become a study in male mid-life crises

Including this one who's an Icke-y podcaster and has posted the weirdest and most hilarious campaign video I've ever seen. It's over 8 minutes of him working out before saying "39 days to go. Let's go"

I'd say this year's song is better than last year's, though. It's cool that they're bringing back the artists that couldn't perform last year. Although I'll still miss last year's Russian entrants.  :(
