What is the gender that causes explosions and fires?

You gotta' ask?

Cool XY fetuses don't look at explosions?

Though the thing The Larch posted never did say which sex the fetus was

Well, little girl explosions are pink, while little boy explosions are blue. Clearly, pink explosions are less harmful!

Well this sucks.

https://www.pcmag.com/news/chia-cryptocurrency-expected-to-cause-hard-drive-and-ssd-shortages

New crypto currency based on using spare hard drive space.
Chinese miners pushing up HD prices to mine it.
This whole crypto mining thing is such a colossal waste of resources.  I think the governments should crack down on it before Bitcoin itself raises the sea levels by a foot.

I've been saying it for a while...governments should have shut down this whole cryptocurrency idea in its infancy, and that they let it continue to run amok is a disgrace.

A related random fact; rats can synthesise vitamin C in their own bodies, an advantage that our ancestors lost somewhere along the way.
I thought I read once that all mammals can do this, except for humans and, for whatever reason, guinea pigs.

Smother them in regulation, with a little bit of taxation on top.

In exciting news hopefully we'll see more after governments flooded researchers with vaccine money - researchers have done a 12 month trial for a malaria vaccine and found it's highly effective - up to 77% effectivness in kids (who make up most of the 400,000 who die every year from malaria):

Awesome!

A potent malaria vaccine has been a goal for decades. If these results are sustained, it will make a huge difference for millions of people.

I checked; apparently most primates and bats, capybaras and guinea pigs can't. https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_C#:~:text=Most%20animals%20make%20their%20own,bats%2C%20capybaras%20and%20guinea%20pigs.
I reckon I must have first encountered the fact as part of a "rats are scary and amazing" story.

That is excellent news. 400,000 deaths but also a lot of debility which greatly harms many countries' efforts to climb out of poverty.
