Tomorrow my work finishes.

Now I need to find another job to fill the void between now and August.

so this looks delicious.

Edit: It's tempting to think of oneself as a victim and the sympathetic protagonist of a story. It'd be so easy to think of myself as a very lonely, unhappy person who life has dealt some hard blows to, someone who just deserves a good turn of fortune.

But I don't believe in a fortune that turns according to people's merit anyway, and even if I did, I am not sure it should for me. My loneliness is largely of my own design. Arrogant, judgmental person who deliberately chose self-isolating paths in life. No shit you're lonely. I am so mean to people- it is hard to hold back deprecating comments or sniff disapprovingly at their choices in life. Even when I do this admirably, the words are suppressed, but the thoughts are not. Suppressing the bile is pointless if you start to hate the people. I will find someone I can tolerate, but even then, it's up in the air why they'd tolerate me. I hope to improve a lot this summer. Every single night is like this and it has to stop.
It can't be helped...We'll have to use 'that'

He said he's 66 years old, and he'd be past retirement age in any other line of work.  Fair enuff.

Yeah, that's as good a reason as any.

Guy I knew makes big bucks as a specialist in cleaning out apartments of folks who have been evicted.

Apparently, a truly gruesome job requiring a strong stomach - but the pay is great, and he's his own boss ...

Been sitting out in my garden as its raining, this may be the first appreciable rain in the best part of two months.

Spent the day fishing.  Caught many fishes.  Mostly crappie and sunfish.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011
