I didn't know Shell was a foreign company.

Proper name is Royal Dutch Shell, it is an Anglo-Dutch company formed when Royal Dutch Petroleum and Shell merged.............back in 1907 wiki tells me.

Didn't realize Samsung was so hugeous.

Samsung does almost everything... construction, ship building, chemicals, financial services, entertainment, mecial services and more. It's not just the consumer electronics that makes it so big.

IIRC, Ikea is actually domiciled in the Netherlands, so it may be bigger than H&M but smaller than Shell.

I believe it's stock valuation and brand recognition, not balance sheet.

I thought Volvo had been bought by GM.
