What the hell?  Is this a game where you play American Football using Warhammer Armies?

Because that is one of the weirdest concepts I have ever heard.
Quote"This is a Russian warship. I propose you lay down arms and surrender to avoid bloodshed & unnecessary victims. Otherwise, you'll be bombed."

Zmiinyi defenders: "Russian warship, go fuck yourself."

Bought it today at the store. I hope there'll be a Languish league?

It's a gem of a game, that Games Workshop unfortunately pushed to the back of the shelves because it didn't sell enough minis.

I hope so.   :menace:

I went to the store to get it today but it's not in yet, hopefully next week.

That's exactly it.  Bloodbowl was the only GW mini game I ever played.

lol the severe injuries the dwarfs inflicted upon my lizards actually helped for the second half, prolly due to AI mistake: for the "attract center" lineup I had (I think) a blocker just right of the trench missing, which during 2 out of the 3 times the play started, attracted the attacking dwarfs to storm through the hole there in an -assumed- effort to clean my half by the time the ballcarrier gets there, but it left the carrier protected only by 2 other dwarfs which was not enough since my big lizards are a mach for the dwarfs. So I got my first touchdown after the carrier was stomped to the ground.
The second came after it was turn 15 out of 16, the dwarf defense around the carrier held but was crumbling and realizing there ain't enough time left, the AI went with trying to pass. Of course speaking of dwarfs, it was a horrible pass, a small lizard of mine picked the ball up and ran into TD.

Then we got an extra turn because a riot broke out due to two supporters going at eachother but of course the outcome did not change.

Now I will have to devise a tactic against the skavens in the final

Had quite an easy time against those skavens last night, now that I have got a grip on the game and the lizardmen.

The next tournament had the same 3 races as opponents altough different teams, and apart from this new skaven team, the others had lower point value teams than I did, so it really was easy until I faced the Skavens, both of us having a team of roughly 1200 in value (you start out with 1000 but gain experience).

Before that game I was starting to search for the option to raise the difficulty level during the campaign (haven't found it) but then the match restored my faith in the AI. This skaven team played a passing game but also they were able to bring down my big lizards if they ganged up on one.

Their first TD was particullary nice, a one turn combo play of 5 or 6 skaven players saw a long pass having a cleared flight route to the one standing near to my goal line who then walked in with the ball. Soon I was down 2-0, but managed to come back to 2-2 by not building my usual cautios attack but rather just giving the ball to my most skilled small lizard and running full speed toward the TD line, and trying to keep up with the big lizards.
But for the third try the biggies were checked so my runner was alone, lost the ball, and again the skavens had no problem getting behind my full-fledged assault and score their 3rd goal. I ALMOST made it to their goal line before the game ended.

Great game. :)

EDIT: Oh, and the weakest team I played against here, the dwarf, used their extra points (you get the difference between you and your opponent as points to buy stuff with) to get a star player who was riding this road roller-ish thing at start, but could not use it, because a random event at start triggered a massive charge by the fans and both of our teams had several players down including the steam roller one, who then got sent off for the illegal machinery usage. :D

Jaron

Winner of THE grumbler point.

Had my first game with the Ork team of the Grunting Guzzlers against the human team Holy Crusaders.

I received a 3-0 thrashing. During the first half I tried a passing game with goblins as receivers. Unfortunately they were pounded into the ground quickly. Second half was a bit better when I focused on blocking/thrashing the enemy and playing a rushing game. I kept the humans mostly under control  by teaming up on them and knocking them down. The Troll was useful as he managed to KO three players with the help of Black Orcs. I suffered most turnovers by getting too close to human players still standing (one of their receivers ahd slipped through, waiting for the pass which came on turn 16).

That my players were hit with stones every kick off didn't help, either. :(

Judging by my short try of the elfs, a passing game is an order of magnitude harder to do properly than a rushing one. Thats one of the reasons I am happy to see the AI manage to pull it off every once in a while

Had a practice game against Jaron's dwarfs in the public leauge. Won 2-0 but it was due to his noobishness: did not care for the path his runner was taking so instead of taking the 100% clear left flank he opened, he walked into my trench :P That was at 1-0 near the end of the game so it pretty much ended it.

He did kill one of my Sauruses and I dont have money for a replacement.

Only won 1-0, but I thought this performance was fine, anyways.  :menace:

In the boxes on the right.

Can't say yet, get some work done around the house.
