Happy to hear that your father seems to be recovering, Raz.

My mother was prompted to quit smoking after hearth trouble 10 years ago and did it overnight. Her health has improved significantly since then and hasn't had any hearth issues since then. So it can be done.

The Brain

No hearth issues in my family (that I know of).
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

Both my maternal grandmother had and my mother has heart issues, and my paternal grandfather died of heart attack.

I always make that mistake. It's one of those words that make me second guess myself when writing.

I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Bit of an update.  My dad has been very ill since the spring of last year.  He's been in the hospital on and off for the last six months.  I was informed today that my Dad has congestive heart failure, and that he is in the final stage of his illness.  He is currently in the ICU and if he stabilizes he will be put in hospice care.  I don't think he will survive January
