Quote'Snow sculpture' causes momentary controversy MILLWOOD, Wash. - One man's trash is another man's treasure, but what about art? That may just be the question in one Washington town after neighbors on a street in Millwood were surprised this morning to see a giant piece of art on a man's lawn. The artwork was a sculpture; a sculpture of a man's private parts.
The sculpture got the attention of the Sheriff's Office after someone at City Hall called it in to Crime Check, after which a deputy stopped by to talk with the sculptor.
"He wanted to know what it was and I told him it was a lighthouse," says Ken Blessing, the sculptor, "we built a light house out here, apparently some people out there have their minds in the gutter..."
In reality, the sculpture really wasn't a lighthouse, but Blessing and his friends did not think it was going to cause so much controversy.
The deputy treasurer at Millwood City Hall says not only was the sculpture in bad taste, but was along a school bus route as well. Neighbors, however seemed to get a laugh out of it, some even taking pictures with it.
The Sheriff's Office says the man's First Amendment rights allow him to put such a sculpture on his lawn unless he's purposely harassing neighbors.
Despite exercising his First Amendment rights, Blessing took it down, shying away from the controversy, saying to those who were offended "whoever it is, they should be ashamed... get their head out of the gutter.

I love that the guy who decided to make a snow dick in his yard is telling other people to get their minds out of the gutter. :)
"If you think this has a happy ending, then you haven't been paying attention."
