Brooklyn teacher accused of kidnapping engaging in sex acts with female students

I guess this is one of those examples of how the gender a pedophile likes in adults doesn't match children. That and/or he's just a horny bastard.

He is the vilest pervert teacher New York has ever seen.

A sex-crazed Brooklyn educator had intercourse with several female students, took them to sex clubs and nude beaches and handed out straight A's to a girl he was sleeping with, prosecutors said Tuesday.

The debauchery of Sean Shaynak, 44, came to light after the math and physics teacher at Brooklyn Technical High School was charged in August with sending a picture of his private parts to a 16-year-old student.

But that was only the beginning of the lurid misdeeds prosecutors accuse the divorced father of a 9-year-old daughter of carrying out. They include:

• Taking a 15-year-old to a nude beach in New Jersey without permission and plying her with vodka, tequila and whisky until she passed out at his home.
• Exchanging some 10,000 text messages with that same girl, in which he asked her to participate in lesbian sex with another student and told her about his experience with a ménage-à-trois and gay sex.
• Giving another student perfect grades "regardless of the fact she did not do any assignments and left tests blank," said prosecutor Joseph Mancino.
• Forcing himself on that 18-year-old student when she resisted his attempt at intercourse.
• Carrying on a "four-month sexual relationship" with yet another teen, which included a trip to an out-of-state gay-themed sex club where she watched him getting "serviced" by other men.
• Taking that student on what prosecutors described as a "terror ride" from Queens to Brooklyn that ended with her hiding in the bushes and her teacher screaming and banging on his car. "He threatened to tell her parents," Mancino said.
• Sending full-frontal photos to four students, two of whom were minors.
• Storing an extensive library of pornography in his computer, which included bestiality — sex acts between humans and dogs, horses and goats.

"It is shocking that a public high school teacher allegedly sexually preyed on vulnerable students," Brooklyn District Attorney Kenneth Thompson said in a statement.

The criminal conduct started in the fall of 2012 and continued through this summer, court papers say.

The teacher is facing 25 years in prison for the top charge in a 36-count indictment that accuses him of kidnapping, criminal sex act and other crimes — including obscenity, forcible touching and unlawful imprisonment — against a total of six girls, ages 13 to 19.

He's looking at a much longer potential penalty due to the multiple alleged incidents.

Shaynak, of Flatbush, has been teaching for five years at the Fort Greene high school attended by Mayor de Blasio's son Dante, although a student told The News that the famous student did not take classes with him.

Reactions at the school ranged from shocked to not surprised.

"Some people were aware of it. They said that they saw it coming, that he was a perv — the way he looked at girls," said Tangina Ahmed, 16, a junior at the school. "I find that really gross."

Others were taken aback by the allegations against the amateur pilot who used to work as a flight instructor before becoming a teacher and ran an aerospace after-school club.

The school's principal, Randy Asher, did not respond to a request for comment.

Defense lawyer Kimberly Summers pleaded not guilty on Shaynak's behalf when he was arraigned in Brooklyn Supreme Court.

"My client maintains his innocence on all these charges," she told the judge.

She claimed that one student "was working on a project with him, which would explain the voluminous text messages," and noted that he has a 9-year-old girl, which would give him incentive to return to court.

The teacher's bail was set at $1 million.

His brother is Hollywood actor Craig Shaynak, who has a recurring role in the Showtime TV drama "Ray Donovan" and has appeared in various other TV shows and on stage.

Craig Shaynak declined to comment. The defendant's sister also declined to speak.

Shaynak was initially charged with sending the full-frontal photo via the picture-sharing app Snapchat. A search warrant then unearthed a trove of incriminating evidence, sources said.

"These alleged actions are completely unacceptable and have no place in, or outside of, our schools," said Department of Education spokeswoman Devora Kaye. "He is not, and will not be, in contact with students. Student safety remains our top priority."

Shaynak had been previously assigned to the rubber room, and he continues to collect a $52,744-a-year salary.

"The details of this case are beyond words," said Campbell Brown, founder of the Partnership for Educational Justice, who is leading efforts to make it easier for the city to remove ineffective and dangerous teachers.

"The fact that our system continues to pay and even protect these predators — with many parents having no idea that their children are in danger — defies common sense."

Because parents place an awful lot of trust in the school system and teachers. Apparently some of the students weren't particularly shocked with this guy, though. 

In my high school days we had a couple male teachers that were clearly perving on female students.  AFAIK they never actually *did* anything, but we wouldn't have been surprised if they had.  What was a little surprising is that a few years ago the guy that had been my Junior High principal got caught with an underage girl.  I thought he was just a douchebag, not necessarily a perv.

We had a case of a teacher "engaging" female students in this kind of way in my high-school. The girls were over the age of consent in Spain, so it wasn't a crime despite the dubious morality of it. They "invited" him to resign from his job but the worst part is that apparently he already had a story of it in the previous school he worked at.

Oh, and afterwards he inherited a small fortune and set up his own academy.

I encountered at least two teachers who had sex with students when I was going through school - one in my junior high (grades 7-8) school, and one in high school. Both were male teachers having sex with female students.

The one in junior high did stuff that, at the time, I found very odd, but I was so young I had no idea what was up; in hindsight, it is clear he was having an inappropriate relationship (at the least) with at least one female student. He had a pattern of this, and was fired after my time.

The one in high school made no secret of his partiality to the female students. He arranged his class so the girls were in front and the boys in back. He seemingly gave the good looking girls good marks that they did not otherwise earn, or so rumour had it. He coached the girl's baseball team, and would often take favoured players out to dinner. He was eventually forced to resign. We kids thought it was funny at the time that he was so obviously interested in the girls, but we were naive enough not to think he was actually having sex with some of them.

Neither was ever charged criminally as far as I know - the worst they faced was being forced to resign or being fired.

I never thought it was that big of a problem, but speaking with several female interns over the summer, apparently there's a whole lot of professor fucking going on.

Getting disturbing how common this "toeing the line without actually breaking the law" perviness is turning out to be.  One of the marching band directors at my high school ended up marrying one of his former students, too.  Also, one of the supervisors at my last job married her teacher after dropping out, but she insisted that she seduced him.
