QuoteSouvenir Picture

Pyongyang, June 8 (KCNA) -- While passing by paddy field in Thaekam-ri at sunset in late February Juche 49 (1960), President Kim Il Sung saw a bevy of girls turning over compost on a field and had his car stopped.

He came up to the heap of compost emitting hot reek and took a fork in his hands to drive it into the heap and turn it over. Deeply pleased, he said the compost was well rotten and he had never seen such rapidly rotten compost anywhere else, though he had been to many places.

Then he asked the girls how and from when they had made it.

One of them answered that they were making such compost after they heard about the teachings given by him at the historic general Party membership meeting of Chongsan-ri. He suggested meeting there again after they raised rich crops by producing a lot of compost.

Overflowing with joy, the girls told him they would wait for him after raising bountiful crops.

After hearing their resolution, the President told an official accompanying him to take a picture. He stood against the background of the heap of compost and called the girls, saying it was significant to have a photo taken with the girls and it would be a wonderful memento.

Seeing them hesitating to stand alongside him in their working clothes, he said the picture would be a memento when they stood before the camera with kerchiefs on their heads and forks in their hands at a work site and had the souvenir picture imbued with affection taken with the farm girls.

Tears of happiness rolled down their cheeks after the glorious souvenir picture was taken with President Kim Il Sung quite unexpectedly.

Wonder if he was into scat... :P

Hey, I think the President should know his shit.
First Maxim - "There are only two amounts, too few and enough."
First Corollary - "You cannot have too many soldiers, only too few supplies."
Second Maxim - "Be willing to exchange a bad idea for a good one."
Second Corollary - "You can only be wrong or agree with me."

A terrorist which starts a slaughter quoting Locke, Burke and Mill has completely missed the point.
The fact remains that the only person or group to applaud the Norway massacre are random Islamists.

Still, I think NK is the country where other countries send their diplomatic staff if they really messed up:

QuoteCambodian Embassy Officials Help Farmers

Pyongyang, June 8 (KCNA) -- Ambassador Chhorn Hay and staff members of the Cambodian embassy here did a friendly work at the Korea-Cambodia Friendship Paeksok Co-op Farm in Sinchon County, South Hwanghae Province Monday.

After being briefed about the monument to the field guidance provided by President Kim Il Sung, they helped farmers in weeding maize field.

During a break they enjoyed an art performance and sang songs and conversed with farmers, deepening friendship.

They handed over aid materials to the farm.

Also, Kim Il Sung obviously knew his shit so well they raised a monument for him. :P

In Cambodia all the North Korean embassy staff have to do is run a restaurant.

There go the Vietnamese:
QuoteStaff Members of Vietnamese Embassy Help Korean Farmers

Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- Vietnamese Ambassador to the DPRK Le Van Cu and staff members of his embassy gave helping hands to the DPRK-Vietnam Friendship Migok Co-op Farm, Sariwon City, North Hwanghae Province, on Wednesday.

The guests helped farmers in the immediate farm work, deepening the friendship.

The ambassador hoped that the co-op farm would achieve bigger success in agricultural production this year, too, just as it did last year, bringing joy to General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

They handed aid materials to the farm

And the Syrians (they obviously got the VIP treatment):
QuoteStaff Members of Syrian Embassy Help Korean Farmers

Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- Salah Soukkar, charge d' affaires ad interim, and staff member of the Syrian embassy here gave helping hands to the DPRK-Syria Friendship Wonhwa Co-op Farm, Phyongwon County, South Phyongan Province, on Thursday.

The guests visited the Wonhwa Revolutionary Museum and went round the monument to the revolutionary activities of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and buildings and fields associated with revolutionary activities of the President.

Then they helped farmers in weeding a bean field.

They enjoyed an art performance given by farmers.

Salah Soukkar said that the friendly relations between the two countries provided by Hafez Al-Assad and Kim Il Sung, the eternal leaders of the two countries, are growing stronger under the deep care of President Bashar Al-Assad and Kim Jong Il.

Reiterating his will to make positive efforts to boost the bilateral friendly ties, he wished the farm greater success in the agricultural production.

He handed aid materials to the farm.

Here are the Chinese:
QuoteChinese Embassy Officials Help Korean Farmers

Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- Ambassador Liu Xiaoming and staff members of the Chinese embassy here gave helping hands to the DPRK-China Friendship Thaekam Co-op Farm in Sunan District, Pyongyang, on Friday.

They helped farmers in transplanting rice and talked with farm officials, deepening friendship.

Noting that President Hu Jintao and General Secretary Kim Jong Il declared as a "year of China-DPRK friendship" this year marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations, the ambassador called for building more beautiful future of the cooperative relations between the two countries as intended by their top leaders.

The Korean people are waging the dynamic drive to open the gate to a great prosperous and powerful nation in 2012 under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il, he said, hoping that the farm would gain great success in agricultural production for this year.

The staff members of the embassy handed farming materials to the farm.

And the Indonesians:
QuoteIndonesian Embassy Officials Help Korean Farmers

Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- Ambassador Daulat Hotma Audison Passaribu and staff members of the Indonesian embassy here did a friendly work at the DPRK-Indonesia Friendship Yaksu Co-op Farm in Kangso County, South Phyongan Province, Wednesday.

They helped farmers in weeding a maize field.

During a break they sang songs and conversed with farmers, deepening the friendship.

They handed aid materials to the farm.

So, is it a sign that farming in DPRK is still suffering? There's more articles about Kim Jong Il visiting farms to "give guidance" ( ) and probably more diplomates weading the fields, with each article ending,
"They handed aid materials to the farm."
(This probably being the main reason for the visits.)
