How were his comics shitty? I was under the impression they were well regarded (but I don't know).

So well regarded that they only made it to 6 issues because nobody bought them.  Though I'll admit I didn't read them-- nor any comic book since I was in 5th grade.

That was not my impression from reading his stuff.

He's one of the main reasons I stopped reading The Atlantic.  Though I liked his article about redlining and wealth accumulation.
