I find the most interesting thing about this;

is this:

Some 40,000 island cellphone users signed up and used ZunZuneo to receive and send text messages, mostly innocuous jokes or snippets of international, sports and entertainment news.

I never got why America is so obsessed with Cuba. Not Americans, America. I get it in the Cold War, but now?  I know florida's Cuban population means the embargo won't end while Fidel's  alive, but what's the point of stuff like this?

I don't get it either.  The communist regime would have been long gone without our opposition propping them up.

The point appears to be to give Cubans the chance to speak freely without fear of retribution.

 :rolleyes: Dude, seriously there's no comparison between AmeriKKKa and Cuba.

I interviewed a guy once who was a software engineer in Cuba and who helped run an underground newspaper that criticized the Castro regime.  At some point the government discovered his involvement and gave him two options: a) go to prison, or b) leave Cuba within 48 hours.  He obviously chose option b.  Shit like that would never happen here of course.

I don't think Fidel makes that much of a difference anymore.  At this point, the Cubans just need a nice fat payout for all their 'losses' in the revolution.
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

:hmm: Why would you put that in quotes?  Tons of Cuban exiles did in fact lose their property and wealth when they fled or were booted out.

They don't deserve to be compensated.

Are you confusing Cubans with gays? :sleep:
Not this time.  Sometimes, some people are on the wrong side of history, and they take a hit.  Sort of like the Jews in Poland.
