You need to work out if they're tropical, in which case you need a heated aquarium and the food will be different. They will definitely need an air pump.

Anyway, I've decided to go back to Petco, and buy a proper aquarium later on.  I just grabbed them to save them in case the owners came back this weekend for their shit, but it doesn't look like they will.  Their previous aquarium is all cruddy and broken, and it ain't coming into my house.

So, I've got a shitload of new fish.  Nary a floater yet, and they are some bouncy fuckers, but they need a proper home.

Be careful not to wash anything with detergent that comes into contact with the water, btw, unless you rinse very, very thoroughly. Some fish react very sensitively if their biosphere isn't what it's supposed to be.
