I just saw the chainsaw man movie.
Took some getting into. Seemed the animation budget had really been cut vs series 1.
Turns out... Nope. Japanese fans just complained a tonne about series 1 despite it being one of the best looking shows ever and this being key to why it was so fantastic.
Sad times.
Still decent but.... Aye.

Bit more than half through S1 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure on Netflix (just got to Rome).

Based on a manga that started in the 80s it has similarities to other action titles of the time (JoJo in the first arc is a dead ringer for Ken from Fist of the North Star, plus the "magic fighting techniques"), though a lot more self-conscious in its absurdity and comedic over-the-top-ness.

I mean:

Pleasingly, it has a lot less sexual violence than Bastard (though it likes body builders wearing thongs).

And where Bastard names its characters for 1980s metal bands, JoJo's naming scheme is (prog) rock from what I can see. Robert E.O. Speedwagon, Dire and Straizo (Dire Straits), Tonpetty (Tom Petty), Wang Chan (Wang Chung), Father Styx, Esidisi (AC/DC), ...

Plus, it's the source for many of the "To be continued" memes in videos, for its use of Yes' Roundabout in the end credits.

We are born dying, but we are compelled to fancy our chances.
