I have a strong association that busses are for poor people, but trains are okay fore everyone.

I'm trying to get over that since I've been taking the bus to get to the train station for the last two weeks, but I still think there's something to that.  I often see people in suits on the train, but never on the bus.

What I get for my money. My Tube line home is closed because some clumsy civil engineer filled the signal room with quick-setting cement...

Surely that's a hoax. If it isn't, enjoy being without the tube for a long time.

And my 15 minute drive to work.  You're very correct.

I avoid buses at all costs.  But I do look forward to our streetcar :)

I don't know that site but looks like Britain's papers are covering it.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

I'd rather ride the bus at age 30 than wear a name tag at work.

After googling who Brian Howard was, I'm just going to assume he rode the bus a lot.

He was successful at being an angry hack.   :bowler:

Unfortunately that was the fate of many of the Bright Young Things.  At least Evelyn Waugh got some enjoyment out of them.

I never expected BB to espouse one of my views.

Wow.

I mean, I think it too, but I wouldn't say it.
