If there is a female god, or any god, or gods, I would first want a really good explanation why she, he, they, it have cocked things up so badly.
Why would it be their fault?
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

The idea of heaven is unpleasant.

Heaven sounds pretty dull.

I guess I don't think of heaven in the same way as Valmy and you seem to. It's not, to me, playing harps while sitting on clouds. Rather, it's a place of absolute knowledge and joy, however you may see that.

Absolute knowledge sounds awful. Spending eternity without anything new to learn seems boring to the extreme.

I've never heard a fire and brimstone sermon in my life

I've heard about rosaries and miracles and the devil and confession - but never damnation.

That is because of two things.  First you do not live in North America.  Second you are Catholic.  Those two factors mean that you have experienced a theology that makes much more sense than what I experienced.

Yeah as I child I mainly felt (when not just boring) that Church was a place to remind me about how I damned to hell.

If there really is a god/gods in a heaven, then right off the bat I'm taking them to task for the weak scenario, confusing rules and poorly defined victory conditions, but will compliment them on the map.

That would explain a lot.

Neither have I.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011
