I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

I found a battlefield where a Captain Eugene Ferguson lies wounded thinking that it's a sunny day out.  Lois turner is there as well, with a bullet in her thinking about how much she likes being married and that soda is really good.  Major Janice Mcdonald is there as well and is one of the few who isn't either dead or wounded.  The Major is wearing a T-shirt and sweat pants and is thinking to her self that she has never seen that movie before.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I think we will go Generation Ships, then Cryogenits/cold sleep, then finanlly hyperdrive.

If society doesn't collapse and we don't kill each other off, then we should be reaching to the starts in a couple hundred years or so.

You really can't freeze people like that and there will never be a hyperdrive.
