Victory: Allied seems like a bad idea to me. Just means a couple people will team up early, and then others will be forced to team up as well. And then you have a team game.

Thought about that.

My thinking was enforced teams games might be too rigid, and while voluntary may work out the same, at least there is the possibility of back-stabbing.  Of course, the only incentive to sell put is personal glory.

It has the plus side of eliminating some of the tedious end-game mopping of weaker allies.

I thought maybe a massive map might also take away the certainty of solid early game alliances.  Unless they're always going to be personality-based/favoritism...but I like to take a fresh, role-playing approach to each game, and not be a grognard, number-crunching Borg.  :P

Berkut

Fair enough - the game is pretty new, and I am always interested in "seeing how things work out".

Lord knows our first game that went the distance saw multiple back stabs...

Accidentally made the game with unlimited custom points.

Should we kill it, or play as Supermen?  :P

Tonitrus

Looking at it, there are a couple strategic variables, though pretty much only in how the research tree is managed, and high vs low gravity worlds. :hmm:

You mean unlimited.

Yeah, that sounds lame. I say start over.

Add "Dr Big Dog" to the game as well.

So which is the right game?

It's weird - there's Wi-Fi at the courthouse.  I can access Safari and other internet services.  I can start up Orion and it logs me into Game Center, but if I try to go into a game it says "can not connect to server".
Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

I've had that a few times, Beeb.  Try rebooting your device.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Who is this Big Dog guy anyway, and why is he so slow?  :P

Berkut

Friend of mine and Hab's, lives here in Rochester.

Let me know the next time you plan to play, my handle is HansMarc.

I'm always for adding another game.

Though I worry the others might feel over-saturated.  :P
