Ever heard the Tom Lehrer version?

QuoteFrom the Bible to the popular song,
There's one theme that we find right along.
Of all ideals they hail as good,
The most sublime is ... motherhood.

There was a man who it seems,
Once carried this ideal to extremes.
He loved his mother and she loved him,
And yet his story is rather grim ...

The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane—Marcus Aurelius

Or PDQ Bach:

QuoteBut you know I kinda like this town
I think I'll find me a woman and settle down
Good folks and plenty of space
And besides it's nice to be in a place
Where everyone knows old Oedipus Tex
The brother of the legendary Rex
Yeah, I'm Oedipus Tex - that's what I said
But y'know my friends just call me Ed

Well you know me - I'm Oedipus Tex
I'm just as ornery as my brother Rex
Yeah I'm Oedipus Tex - that's what I said
But y'know my friends just call me Ed

Well, howdy, howdy, howdy, howdy, howdy, howdy - I'm Oedipus Tex
Some day I'd kinda like to know whatever happened to my older brother Rex
Yeah, I'm Oedipus, Oedipus, Oedipus, Oedipus - that's what I said
But my friends just call me Ed

Derrida Deconstruction Services, LLC
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

A couple years ago I was part of a group doing summer research in data sciences here on campus. At one point I overheard one of the guys talking about starting a restaurant called the Random Wok. It's feature dish was to be the Gibb's Sampler.

I've lit some fires...
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I view it as more of a hobby than work.
