Thats the least of it. And this kind of thing can have a huge impact on a business.
When its a simple matter to just kneejerk fire somebody at the slightest hint negative attention could be coming your way, then you'll do it.

This exchange has made me realize something that I had not before.  I had thought before that free will and coercion were a dychotomy.  Now I realize it's a continium.

That being said, potential loss of business still falls on the side of free will for me.  Loss of customers is a normal part of business.  You respond however you want.

It's possible.

Looking at the trial evidence as reported by the medias, it seems both had a tendency toward abuse to the other.  In the end, it was judged defamation that Depp physically mistreated Miss Heard in this trial.  In another, he lost. 

Different rules, different evidence too, I suppose?  I don't really know.

Depp strike me as human wreck, but none of his exes testified he ever was abusive toward them.  Usually, such people tend to not limit themselves to one victim.  But maybe it did happen as she said.

It wasn't Depp v Heard here, but against News Group who I think relied on truth as a defence. Heard gave a witness statement. Also libel cases are now largely heard by a civil judge (like all other civil cases) not juries on a balance of probabilities.

All of which probably had some impact. I think the gap between a successful truth defence here and, I believe, "actual malice" in the US trial is striking though.

Germany is loosening its laws re: cannabis consumption. The organizers of the Munich Oktoberfest have announced that cannabis will not be permitted on premises to "preserve the family friendly character of the event."

Yes, the place known for its "vomit hill" etc. needs to remain family friendly.

As AI content proliferates, there's also concern that we could end up in a model collapse situation as AIs ingest other AI-generated material and end up regurgitating other low-grade synthetic data.

Interesting. An AI inbreeding depression.

I hadn't thought of that but it does make sense.
Even just thinking of images. As all that AI generated shit starts to take over you'll be getting copies of copies of copies....
Though I do suppose the good copies will be the ones to be spread more so have the most influence?

Threats don't have to be explicit to be worrying.
Back when I had fascists threatening my family it was never explitilcy saying anyone would get hurt. Just they'd be seeing me around, if my parents still lived in such and such address, I better be careful with what I say, etc...

For a business little things can hurt. They make a lot of noise about how it's in line with anti semites, no doubt leading to review bombing and all manner of other petty sabotage that really adds up.

So you think they were implicitly threatening bad Yelp reviews.  Ok.
