Lately I've been playing Railroad Tycoon II, Platinum edition. Finding it pretty fun again. Back when it first came out I played it a lot, was a favorite. Fun getting back into it.

From the trailers, to me they kinda look like successors to the 'ol Sierra Online "Quest" games. :hmm:
Yep.

Ditto Tamas's opinion. I thought it was fun for maybe an hour.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Forza Horizon 4 is one of the prettiest games I know, and it keeps astonishing me with little details. That it's got 500+ cars meticulously recreated with interior and exterior is a given at this point. It's almost startling in cases of cars that I've been in in real life. In first person driving, the shifting of gears by your character is animated as is appropriate for the car (e.g. some cars are stick shift, some are automatic, some race cars have the shift up/down on the steering wheel or on the sides of it ...), and your character is slightly reflected in the windshield. Then there's the world - a condensed Northern England/Southern Scotland. English reviewers were surprised by the amount of detail and verisimilitude by the British developers. Different types of phone booths, bus stops, streets of Edinburgh, backyard clutter behind houses, etc. A lot of mundane stuff.

Today I noticed another detail - each house has rooms behind the windows. It's just a cube with a photo of a room on it, kind of like a skybox, but it's still astonishing. A pub has a pub texture inside, shops have shop textures, residential houses have living rooms, bedrooms, studies, staircases, kitchens etc., and all where it makes sense. Not just ground floor but all floors. And every room, even if the window is covered 90% by a curtain, or obscured by blinds.

I'm a sucker for detailed open worlds, and this game just seems silly at this point. :D
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

Do I have that?
It sounds familiar.
Something forza anyway. I'm sure I got it on a month I forgot to pause humble monthly. Never installed. Maybe never used even claimed.

Oh wow, there's a blast from the past! I played a lot of Transport Tycoon back then.  :)  Trains, trucks, ships and maybe more. Fun stuff.

Syt, that sounds like a pretty cool game indeed. Sounds a bit like one of the Sims games where you work with characters and families. They go to work and do all sorts of stuff. An older game and I haven't played it in years.

I've been playing Yakuza 0. Really enjoying it.
Though recently leaned every female character aged 18-40 is modelled on, and has their gasps voiced by, a Japanese porn actress.
