The Belgian GP has turned into a farce. Bad weather conditions first forced a three hour postponement, but FIA apparently insisted on having a race. So the mandatory minimum two laps are driven behind a safety car ( no overtaking allowed), and then the race is declared over.

Back in the day, this would have meant a new wave of Belgian jokes, but they are un-PC now.
Spa-Francorchamps deserved better than this farce. Still Max Verstappen won!  :lmfao:

The funniest thing is that they intended to run the minimum number of laps to make it an official race, except they forgot that you lose one lap on countback when you red-flag the race.  So actually it appears that they're one lap short of the minimum length in order to be awarded points.  Let's see how they get themselves out of this bind.  :lmfao:

Raducanu's run from Wimbledon wildcard to 4th round (pulled out after an anxiety attack on court) and qualifier to US Open champion is astonishing :o

I doubt she's going to be a wildcard or qualifier again

Edit: Just saw this from Guardian sports journalist on Raducanu:

Emma Raducanu has won the US Open. Things she hasn't done as a professional:

- Won a WTA tour match
- Played a tour level three set match(!!)
- Played on clay
- Directly entered a slam main draw
- Played five tour level events

One of the craziest breakout runs ever.

RIP Chris Anker Sørensen, great cyclist and commentator. Died after a collision with a car while riding the WC route. :(

Kind of love that the Russian player at the World Chess Championship has to play under a neutral flag due to the anti-doping sanctions

And AFAICT limited dickheadedness by American fans, which has been a problem in the past.

What an awful end to a great season.  Verstappen was basically handed the championship he convincingly lost by an officiating decision.  Whether Lewis pitted or not, the race control could make a decision to take the title away from him.

Masi needs to go. He took too long to make a decision and it's created all sort of controversy. Verstappen better buy Latifi anything he wants.
