Thanks Syt, I am tempted to start a new game.

Solmyr

I have been planning to start a new game for a month now, just waiting for this patch. I will start as soon as mods are updated. :D

Definitely going back to this game.

It was the most fun I had with clothes on in 2024.

Impressed you can still have so much fun with your clothes off at our age  :P

Zmiinyi defenders: "Russian warship, go fuck yourself."

Just assumed he meant a nice warm soothing bath :P

I really wanted to like the game. I can tell it's well made by people who care, but it's just not my ham.
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

I'm late to this game and have only started playing it in the past couple of months.  I'm in Act 3 with 100 hours played on my first playthrough.  Love the game, it's great... playing as basic fighter and having a blast.  One of my favourite things to do is to have an enlarge spell cast upon me along with taking an Elixir of the Colossus.  The growth is... impressive!

What are the best mods for this game?

Syt

I've been reading the second book of the Drizzt prequel trilogy (Exile, following the events of book 1 where he grows up to be a master warrior but detests Drow society and leaves), prompting me to give a Drow sorceress playthrough a go. I'm struggling to be evil in these kind of games. :D Currently playing it not so much mustache-twirling evil (which would be true to form Drow), but rather as self-interested, slightly paranoid Drow outside her comfort zone and believing in might makes right, but it's still uncomfortable. Arabella died due to snake bite, and Karlach is a head shorter now (even Wyll has serious doubts if it was the right thing to do). I don't like being an asshole to people.

The only game where it kinda worked for me was Mass Effect, but that's because it's Paragon/Renegade choices are more about setting the tone of the story - are you Captain Picard or are you Dirty Harry.

Yeah, I can't never make evil playthroughs. Even when I set out to make one, I just can't stick to it. Only exception, as you mention, was Mass Effect.

I think it doesn't help that the majority of games write villain options so cartoonishly.

Well, reading RA Salvatore's depiction of Drow society, they are incredibly cartoonish levels of evil and casually cruel. People say that Sith society shown in the SWTOR MMO is silly and over the top and would never work; but they are really just Space Drow in that game. :D

It was about a year ago I tried an evil playthrough but I realised I was losing out on some content compared to a good approach. Has this changed in any way?
