The freedom to not be demonize has the evil Quebecers that want to destroy Canada & than not have our Far Left federal leader be praise/excuse for his stance on the destruction of India.

Are you just trolling me?  Are you so desperate to generate some discussion here on Languish that you want to re-hash debates from 20 years ago?  If so... I approve.

I wasn't praising or excusing Singh.  In fact I said that if as a private citizen he wants to advocate for an independent Khalistan that's fine (same as any Quebecer), but as the leader of a federal party he should shut the fuck up about India.

I'm channeling Viper. ;)

I agree with you on Singh, he leads the Canadian NDP, he should talk about Canada more.

He does mostly talk about Canada to be fair.  It's not like his every stump speech is about India.

It's just that he shouldn't talk about India at all.

Especially not for calling for the break up of India  :P

Interesting: there is concern in Ottawa that the pot legalization bill may not pass a second reading vote today.

As predicted, Trudeau's silly decision to kick senators out of the Liberal caucus means they have trouble getting newly "independent" senators to do what they want.

If that was the prediction, it was not proven true by this circumstance.  According to the article the "independent" senators are in favour of bill.  The article indicates that the real problem is:

Quotetwo Senate committees are on the road: members of the agriculture committee are meeting with stakeholders in Calgary, while the Aboriginal peoples committee is in Winnipeg. That means as many as 20 senators — most of them Independent — will be out of the mix today when a vote is held.

Here is a follow up article indicating all the efforts to get the independents to the chamber for the vote.

A Federal Court decision, hot off the presses, confirming pipelines are the sole jurisdiction of the Federal Government and the NEB created by the Feds.   Not sure if this will go to the Supreme Court on appeal.  Also, hard for the BC government to argue that it has any role in regulating the pipeline now.

crazy canuck

A BC Minister tipped his hand, perhaps a bit too much, as to what their legal strategy is and importantly the legal advice they received about BC not having the jurisdiction to stop the pipeline.  It is not surprising that they received that advice - as discussed earlier in the thread, the federal jurisdiction over interprovincial pipelines has been clearly established in the Courts.  What is a bit surprising is that a Minister of the Crown spoke about the legal advice the government had received.

Trudeau's going to Peru. Wonder what he'll dress up like this time? :D
