Lugosi's Dracula isn't really a great film. It's pretty stiff, has a lot of bad dialogue and does not have particularly groundbreaking filmmaking. It suffers from most of the problems of early talkie films. The Spanish version is more highly regarded.

Nosferatu is a classic.

I just love how they shot the same film with the same sets and same script just in Spanish with Spanish actors...oh and with a much more talented director. Was that common back then? Because it just seems so weird.

The Spanish version was also more daring, showing stuff that the English one was too prudish to show, and because they filmed after the English one did, they could check what had worked for them and what not (camera angles, scene compositions...) and improve on it.

Watching the final season of the High Castle.  Why did they wait four years before making it interesting?
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

That whole thing was blown up out of proportion. Got the impression with the Queen in question she was purposefully that way, playing the hard man King, because she was a woman. It seemed clear she was weird even in universe.

Is' Alien Covenant' worth a viewing?

As I'm half an hour in and haven't been taken by it so far.

FInished watching Dracula. I thought it was very good. Only three episodes, very tight, but a fun and interesting take on the story. Well executed, and generally really well acted.

Ooohhh... Season 2 of Titans is on Netflix over here. That was one of my favorite guilty pleasures of 2019.

Watched the first one... it was an odd episode...
First half of the episode is a very hurried wrap-up of the season 1 main arc (which should have been the season 1 finale) then the other half is setting up season 2 properly, which seems to feature around a John Wick-ish version of Deathstroke as the main villain. Also Ian Glen as Bruce Wayne, I can buy that
I think the butthurt guy's very problem is that fencing with that wobbly rod is quite different to flinging with a meter long broad and heavy  piece of metal while wearing a full body metal armor.

Yes. Caught the first ep also. How come they're falling themselves titans all of a sudden?

Apparently s2e1 was meant to be the last episode of s1. Which would have made a lot more sense.
