I don't see it as an attack on state sovereignty for the same reason I didn't see various companies decisions to threaten to pull events if North Carolina didn't revoke their boys only pee with boys law.  Having a convention anywhere is a free choice after all.

I don't think precedent will mean much going forward. If the GOP does it then it's fine, but if Democrats do it then it will be denounced and fought tooth and nail, regardless of precedents.

This is not an isolated instance, he is throwing around all kinds of threats to attack the governors.
