Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress

When it comes to Presidential elections, the state legislatures can do pretty much whatever they want, including having no election at all and simply designating who gets the electoral votes.

However, it is probably best to keep Trump ignorant of that fact.

It's going to be a shitstorm regardless of who wins, but yeah, if it's Biden then expect the worse from the Trump supporters not only through the post-election process but throughout his presidency.

Yeah. If he lost to Hilary I was expecting him to say it was rigged by Obama and find a way to monetise that - maybe through a news network or as host of a show on Fox. It's incredible that despite literally being President I think he'll run the same playbook if he loses this time, but instead of just Obama somehow blame Obama/the deep-state and Democratic Governors.

Breaking: Michigan sends absentee ballots to 7.7 million people ahead of Primaries and the General Election. This was done illegally and without authorization by a rogue Secretary of State. I will ask to hold up funding to Michigan if they want to go down this Voter Fraud path!..

My biggest fear is that GOP will engage in brazen voter fraud, because frankly what consequences would there be for it?  If anything these three years taught us, it's that you can flout the laws with impunity as long as you can tie that to partisan goals.

I don't think so.  Germany isn't a permanently vile place just because they had the vile Hitler as a leader.  I do think Trumpism is likely to stick around after he leaves office for a bit, though.
